Staff Training
The technology behind a POS system matters far less than whether the team can run it under pressure. Even a well-configured system slows down service if staff hesitate at the register, and a rocky rollout in front of guests can undo weeks of setup work in a single bad shift. Training often gets treated as a single group session covering the basics, enough to get through a shift, not enough to troubleshoot when something goes wrong. Manager-level functions like voids, comps, and overrides frequently get skipped entirely, turning simple issues into bigger delays because nobody on shift has the access to resolve them. And once the initial team is trained, there's rarely a plan in place for onboarding new hires down the line.
Strela gets the team, front and back of house, fully proficient on the system before go-live.
Service Areas
-
Role-specific training for FOH and BOH staff. Front of house and back of house each get trained on the parts of the system relevant to their role.
-
Live, on-site training during real service hours. Training happens under real service conditions, not a classroom setting disconnected from how the system gets used.
-
Manager training on reporting, voids, comps, and overrides. Managers get trained specifically on the functions they'll need to run a shift and resolve issues without outside help.
-
Go-live day support. Strela is on hand for the actual launch, ready to troubleshoot as the system goes live under real conditions.
-
Reference materials for onboarding future new hires. Documentation gets left behind so future staff can be trained consistently without starting from scratch.
The Outcome
The team runs the system with confidence from the first shift, not three weeks in. Managers handle voids, comps, and overrides without calling for help. New hires ramp up on documented, repeatable training instead of whatever the busiest server can explain between tables. And guests never notice a POS rollout happened at all.
